The Duke Islamic Studies Center strongly and unequivocally condemns the ongoing Violence against Black lives in the United States and the criminalization of innocent people, whether they are sitting in their living room like Breonna Taylor, jogging down the street like Ahmaud Arbery, playing in the park like Tamir Rice, or walking down the street like Trayvon Martin. Being black should not be a death sentence like it was for George Floyd and Eric Garner. The ongoing terrorization of the Black community must stop. We call on all to be active participants in breaking the cycle of systemic racism.  Black Lives Matter.
